So soon?
It wasn't that long ago that car owner Mike Heffner was blindsided by an announcement by driver Tyler Walker that he was leaving Heffner's No. 27 super sprint.
Now, a few weeks later, Heffner enjoys this week as a champion after his new driver, Daryn Pittman, won three Keystone Cup races and the series' crown.

PORT ROYAL - Mike Erdley was perfect Memorial Day evening at Port Royal Speedway. Erdley pulled the No. 1 pill to start the 30 lap sprint car feature from the pole. When the green flag was thrown, Erdley promptly opened up a commanding lead.
Competitors had two caution periods and a long green flag run through lapped traffic in an attempt to catch Erdley.
It didn't happen.

COLUMN By BRYAN HOUSEHOLDER For The York Dispatch
Daryn Pittman's season didn't start out too well here in Pennsylvania.
The Oklahoma native began his second season in the area driving for Jesse Keen in the No. 17 car, a ride with which he finished out last season. For whatever reason, things didn't go so well to start the season.
Meanwhile, California native Tyler Walker came East this year to drive for second-year car owner Michael Heffner in the No. 27 car. Like Pittman, Walker's season didn't start out so well. About a month ago, Walker announced he was leaving Heffner's team to join the Keen team. Walker made the announcement in Victory Lane at Port Royal after scoring his first win of the season. That one came with Heffner's team.

PORT ROYAL - Mike Erdley, of Elizabethville, wired the course at Port Royal Monday, winning the final event of the Keystone Cup series for 410 sprint cars.
Erdley, who started on the pole, held off a late charge by Oklahoma driver Daryn Pittman. But Pittman gets the last laugh - he accumulated enough points with his win at Selinsgrove Speedway Sunday to clinch the Keystone Cup itself.

The Cup belongs to Daryn Pittman of Owasso, Oklahoma.
Pittman won three straight races -- at Hagertsown, Lincoln, and Selinsgrove, respectively -- to win the fourth annual Keystone Cup Series.
He finished second on Monday at Port Royal to claim the title. Mike Erdley won the feature, the last event of the week-long sprint cup series.
Pittman also made a thrilling last-lap pass by Stevie Smith of Broken Arrow, Okla, in turn two to win Sunday night’s 30-lap main event at Selinsgrove Speedway.
For Pittman, driving the Mike Heffner-owned No. 27, the $5,000 victory marked his first career at Selinsgrove Speedway.
Tyler Walker won the series' first race Wednesday night at Grandview. He finished second in the final standings. Friday's stop at Williams Grove Speedway was rained out.
Williams Grove was able to run its super sportsman division on Saturday, however. After the first three sportsman features had been won by drivers with front row starting spots, who each led every lap for their respective victories, things were different on May 29.
Rich Eichelberger, the veteran from Dillsburg, charged from the 13th starting position to take the lead from Duaine Smith and went on to score the twelfth sportsman victory of his career at Williams Grove.
Eichelberger’s triumph tied Larry Jackson’s career victory total which has been at the top of the sportsman winner’s list for thirteen years.
